He was born in 1925, Chief Physician of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He studied with Kong Bohua, one of the four famous doctors in Beijing. He is the first batch of Beijing-level instructor of inheritance work of academic experience of national TCM experts, the third batch of national instructor of inheritance work of academic experience of national TCM experts, Director of Pediatric Branch of Chinese Society of TCM, Executive Director of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine, Chairman of Pediatric Committee, Director of Department of Pediatrics of Beijing Hospital of TCM, and Leading Personnel of Pediatric Discipline of TCM. He graduated from Peking Medical College in 1944, and later studied with Kong Bohua, one of the four most famous doctors in Beijing. He has been working for more than 60 years as a TCM practitioner. With his exquisite medical skills, Mr. Song has cured countless patients.

Academically, Song Zuomin diligently sought ancient maxims, learned from various medical skills, paid attention to febrile diseases, good at treating all kinds of heat syndromes, explored the source of medical treatment, summarized key points of treatment of hematological diseases, paid attention to regulating the spleen and stomach of children, and specialized in encephalopathy, cardiomyopathy and various difficult and miscellaneous diseases in clinical practice. In scientific research, he created prescriptions such as Diarrhea Relieving Powder, Yuepi Decoction, Myocarditis 1, 2 and 3 Prescriptions, Hematogenesis Syrup, Hematopoiesis 1, 2 Prescriptions, and so on. Among them, Diarrhea Relieving Powder and Yuepi Decoction have achieved remarkable effects in clinical application. He has wrote more than 40 medical papers and 9 medical books.
