Zhang Zhizhen, male, was born in 1939, Chief Physician of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), graduated from Tianjin College of TCM in 1965 and worked in the People's Hospital of Ningxia Autonomous Region and Xuanwu Hospital of Beijing. He worked in clinical medicine in Beijing Hospital of TCM in 1978 and served as Chief Physician and Former Vice President. He was a Member of the Defense Committee for Doctoral and Master's Theses of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Chinese Academy of TCM, Member of Clinical Assessment Committee of TCM Specialty of Beijing Higher Education Self-taught Examination Commission, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Difficult and Complicated Cases of Internal Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Medicine, Vice Chairman of the Research Committee of TCM of the Chinese Academy of Geriatrics, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Internal Medicine of Beijing Association of Chinese Medicine, and Vice Chairman of Beijing Association of Geriatric Rehabilitation Medicine, etc.

He has been engaged in the clinical and educational work of TCM for nearly 60 years, and has made great achievements in the research of difficult diseases, especially Behcet disease. He creatively put forward the diagnosis and treatment standard of Behcet disease, which is the epitome of the clinical practice of Behcet disease.

In clinical practice, he is good at treating cerebrovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, coronary heart disease, neurosis, insomnia, headache, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, sjogren's syndrome, Behcet disease, gout, hyperlipidemia, type-2 diabetes complications, and chronic liver and gall diseases. He has published more than 40 papers, and the books wrote by him contains the  Health Care Consultant of Traditional Chinese Medicine, New Theory of Internal Medicine of Contemporary Chinese Medicine, and other monographs.
