Yu Rencun, was born in 1934, male, Han nationality, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. He is the Honorary Director, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Chief Physician of Cancer Center of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He graduated from the School of Medicare of Jiangxi Medical College in 1955, and graduated from the first Western medicine learning of Chinese medicine class in Beijing in 1961. Now he is Honorary Chairman of the Committee of Experts on Integrated TCM and Modern Medicine of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Member of the Council of Chinese Anti-cancer Association and Consultant and successive Deputy Director of the TCM Committee, Consultant of Cancer Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Consultant and successive Deputy Director of Cancer Specialty Committee of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Vice-Chairman of Beijing Anti-cancer Association, Director of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Honorary Chairman of Committee of Cancer Specialty Committee, Editorial Board Member of the Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, Chinese Journal of Surgery of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, Cancer, Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine, and etc.

He published more than 100 medical papers, including the Oncology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Volume I and II), which is the first book on this discipline; he edited Yu Rencun's Oncology of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Cancer Research and 350 Questions on Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation, and participated in the preparation of more than 20 medical books; he was the Project Leader on national Chinese medicine research from "the Sixth Five-year Plan" to "the Ninth Five-year Plan", and his scientific research won the research achievement awards at ministerial and provincial (city) levels for many times; he was invited to attend give presentation in the 30th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Pharmacognosy in 1989. After the conference, he gave an academic exchange at the National Cancer Institute of the United States.

He has visited Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, the United States and Hong Kong on several occasions to treat well-known local people. He is famous both at home and abroad for his profound academic knowledge, rich experiences and excellent curative effect. He is a famous oncologist of integrated TCM and modern medicine in China and a famous TCM physician in China, enjoying a special government allowance issued by the State Council, and being included in the Who's Who in the World published by the United States and Dictionary of International Biography by Britain. He is the Visiting Professor and Permanent Consultant of Singapore Thong Chai Medical Institution, and Senior Medical Consultant of the Hong Kong Association for Health Care.

He has engaged in clinical research of Chinese medicine and integrated TCM and modern medicine for nearly 60 years, especially in cancer treatment, and summed up a whole set of experiences and theories of integrated TCM and modern medicine treatment of cancer. Recent progress has been made in the study of qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome in advanced cancer patients, which provides theoretical and objective bases for the treatment of cancer with the method of supplementing qi and activating blood circulation.
