Wei Beihai, was born in June 1931, is the Chief Physician and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Spleen and Stomach Diseases. He once served as the Director of Beijing Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Deputy Director of Beijing Hospital of TCM, and Executive Director of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He is rewarded with special government subsidies. He graduated from the Third Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in 1954 and has been practicing medicine for more than 50 years. He was the instructor of the second, third and fourth batches of instructor on the inheritance of teachings from a master to his disciples. He built "Wei Beihai Famous Chinese Medicine Experts Inheritance Studio", Wei Beihai Famous Physicians Inheritance Workstation, and trained a large number of talents for the development of the cause of Chinese medicine.

Mr. Wei is one of the pioneers of the study of spleen-stomach theory in China. He is engaged in the treatment of chronic liver diseases, the research of spleen-stomach theory and clinical and work of digestive diseases by applying the combination of TCM and modern medicine. He firstly established the rat model of the combination of disease and syndrome from spleen and stomach deficiency, atrophic gastritis and helicobacter pylori, and developed gastrin. He has published more than 180 academic papers and 6 academic works, and won 24 scientific and technological progress awards from the Ministry of Health and Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission.
