The Department of Surgery of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University was founded in the 1950s. At that time, a large number of famous surgeons of Beijing traditional Chinese medicine, such as Fang Zhixuan and Wang Yuzhang, and the first batch of famous surgeons from the class of surgeons of Western medicine learning Chinese medicine were gathered. After the establishment of Department of Urology, in the diagnosis and treatment of urological diseases, we adhere to Professor Fang Zhixuan, Wang Yuzhang, Lyu Peiwen and Liu Jiafang's clinical experiences, sticking to the choice of the most favorable diagnosis and treatment plan for patients, adopting people-oriented concept, highlighting the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, and adhering to the standardized treatment of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.

At present, there are 3 chief physicians, 1with doctor degree and 6 with master degree in our Department. The chief physicians and the executive physician-in-charge are all studying in the Peking University First Hospital, and following the national famous veteran in traditional Chinese medicine to study. They not only have the traditional Chinese medicine theory and various diagnosis and treatment methods, but also can skillfully carry out various surgical operations.
