With the rapid change of material life, people's life style has changed dramatically, resulting in the increasing incidence of gout (hyperuricemia) and the younger age of onset. As early as in the late 1980s, Professor Zhou Naiyu, a TCM National-level Master in our hospital, took the lead in advocating the method of clearing heat, removing toxin and purging turbidity for the treatment of gout. In recent years, we have used Furong ointment, Dingtong ointment and other external preparations of our hospital. Qingre Yangyin Chushi pill for oral administration, combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), internal and external treatment, and have been established the special diagnosis and treatment mode of combination of oral and external medicine, TCM and Western medicine, with the advantages of simple operation, quick effect, exact effect and less adverse reactions. While highlighting the TCM advantages, we have passed on the excellent ideas of correspondence between man and nature in traditional Chinese culture to the daily treatment of gout patients, guided the patients to eat and exercise reasonably, and achieved better treatment results.
