Diabetic foot is a serious advanced complication of diabetic patients. It is a serious diabetic complication in which the foot gradually loses its sense and causes blood circulation disorder, followed by infection and ulceration, severe limb necrosis and even life-threatening. At the beginning of our Department, we inherited the experience of the older generation of famous doctors in Beijing, such as Zhao Bingnan, Fang Zhixuan and Wang Yuzhang, in the treatment of skin pyocutaneous diseases, inherited and developed more than 40 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) external preparations, such as red gauze, No.1 gauze, No.2 gauze, gauze of restoring Yang to promote tissue regeneration, Furong ointment and so on.

The Department has original opinions on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot, and divides diabetic foot into three syndrome types: deficiency of qi and yin, accumulation of dampness and toxin; deficiency of qi and blood stasis, vein block; deficiency of spleen and kidney-yang, tendon and bone loss, which are treated with nourishing yin and clearing heat, promoting granulation, invigorating qi and promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis and dredging collaterals, invigorating the spleen and benefiting the kidney and restoring yang to promote tissue regenration, and have achieved remarkable clinical effects.

Our Department has set up a special outpatient clinic for diabetic foot, and selected doctors with rich experience for consultation, focusing on TCM treatment, highlighting the advantages of external treatment of TCM, and treating according to different clinical manifestations of patients.
