Wang Dajing

Wang Dajing (1915 - 1990), whose courtesy name is Ruoyu, was born in Shangfang Village, Fangshan County, Beijing. Mr. Wang has been fond of Chinese medicine since he was a child, and he was admitted to Huabei Medical College at the age of 17. In 1935, he became the first batch of graduates of Huabei Medical College. He studied with the Director Shi Jinmo, one of the four famous doctors, soon became a proud student of Mr. Shi for his hard work, and was loved and praised by the patients.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was employed by Beijing Advanced School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as the Director of Typhoid Fever  Teaching and Research Office, and trained a large number of talents in tTCM for China. In 1959, he was transferred to Beijing Hospital of TCM as the Chief Physician of Internal Medicine. In 1978, he was identified as the priority academic experiences inheritance object among the famous old doctors of TCM in Beijing. Mr. Wang was willing to learn from others. He recognized the methods of his predecessors, but he still had some innovations. He was good at absorbing the achievements of modern medicine, through the combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation, he formed his own unique style and academic thought. He was known for his expertise in the treatment of various difficult diseases, especially autoimmune diseases and neurological diseases. He achieved significant results in the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Behcet's syndrome, syringomyelia, progressive muscular atrophy, lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis and other diseases. He had written a number of professional academic papers, and was included in the Selected Experiences of Old TCM in Beijing. He wholeheartedly taught his students his knowledge without reservation, and many of his apprentices have become a new generation of famous doctors. His disciples who are still working in the hospital are Zhou Naiyu, Wei Yixin, Zhang Zhizhen, Liu Dianchi, Zhang Shengrong, and etc.
