Wan Haihong (1917 - 1982), male, Hui nationality, was born in Beijing. Mr. Wan loved Chinese medicine. In 1933, he was taught by Mr. Cai Gengpei, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, and benefited a lot from him. Later, he worked as a handyman while treating people around him until China was liberated.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he entered Beijing Advanced School of TrCM in 1954 to study the theory of TCM and modern medical knowledge systematically. In 1956, in response to the call of the Party, he took an active part in the construction of Beijing Hospital of TCM and served as Chief Physician of Internal Medicine. In 1981, he was identified as priority academic experience inheritance object among the famous old doctors of TCM in Beijing.
Mr. Wan had been engaged in TCM clinical practice for decades, and had accumulated rich treatment experiences. He was kind to others, careful and responsible for diagnosis and treatment. He has unique experiences in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases and brain diseases with remarkable clinical efficacy, which was well received by patients and peers. He was patient and sincere in clinical teaching, imparting his years of accumulation to the students without reservation, explaining problems repeatedly, paying attention to summary, and personally writing a large number of teaching plans and academic papers, which are loved by the younger generation of doctors.
