Fang Ruifeng, male, formerly known as Fang Shihong, was born in 1889 in Luanxian County, Hebei Province, Han nationality.

He studied medicine at Yang Weizhai Medical Center of Datong, Shanxi Province in the year 1928 and at Wang Chunyuan Medical Center in Xixie Street, Beijing in 1936. He practiced medicine successively in Zhaogezhuang of Tangshan City, Xidan and Qianmen areas of Beijing, during which he also learned from Kong Bohua for a year and a half. He came to work in Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since its establishment in 1956, specializing in neurasthenia and miscellaneous diseases.
