The Department of Preventive Medicine of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University was established in June 2009, including Department of Health Examination Center, Preventive Medicine Center, Outpatient Department of Ointment Prescription and Outpatient Department of Miscellaneous Diseases. The Physical Examination Center is the first grade-A tertiary hospital approved on site by Beijing Health Examination Quality Control Center and Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine on the acceptance of the health qualification review. In 2007, it became the first batch of pilot units of "Preventive Treatment of Disease" of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing Center for "Preventive Treatment of Disease", and "Key Specialty of Prevention and Health Care of Traditional Chinese Medicine" in Beijing. In 2015, it was awarded the title of "National Health Management Demonstration Base" jointly promulgated by China Health Promotion Foundation and Health Management Association of Chinese Medical Association. It is the only grade-A tertiary hospital of Chinese medicine awarded this honor. In the same year, it won the "2015 Promotion Award of China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association", which is the only award approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the State Science and Technology Award Office, and has a high reputation in the industry-university-research community in China.
1. Provide standardized and personalized physical examination services
As the first physical examination center approved on site on the acceptance of the health qualification review in Beijing, it can strictly implement the relevant system requirements of physical examination, consistently adhere to standardized medical services, and constantly strive to improve the quality of service before, during and after the examination. The department adopts the "one-stop" service mode, providing various kinds of customized "physical examination packages" for people of different groups, ages, occupations and needs, which fully embodies the "people-oriented" service concept. The examination of Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Surgery, Department of Otolaryngology, Department of Ophthalmology, Department of Gynecology, Department of Ultrasonic Diagnosis and Department of Radiology in the Physical Examination Center is undertaken by doctors with clinical intermediate and above professional titles. The department has advanced equipment such as CT, ECT, DSA Vascular Machine, Large-scale Full-automation Analyzer, Color Doppler Ultrasound Diagnosis Instrument, Molybdenum Palladium Detection Equipment and Bone Mineral Density Detector.
2. Carry out the traditional Chinese medicine physical examination service with the characteristics of our hospital
Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the first Physical Examination Center with TCM characteristics to carry out "TCM Constitution Identification" and "TCM Meridian Identification". The Department of Preventive Medicine has always adhered to the management concept of TCM prevention and health care, that is, "Registration based on the Self Conditions, Understanding of Self Conditions and Asking Physician for Treatment Based on the Understanding of Self Conditions". In the field of prevention and treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases and health promotion of traditional Chinese medicine, the department has gradually formed a preventive medicine service model with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine named "Health Risk Factors Screening-Health Assessment-Health Management-Disease Intervention" in our hospital, and established a more complete system of traditional Chinese medicine prevention and health care in China.
At present, tongue pulse examination and infrared thermography examination are also carried out in the department. Through objective, scientific and personalized health examination of the examinees, personalized Chinese medicine health guidance programs are formulated according to the evaluation results.

According to the different physique and the needs of the patients after examination, we adopt the traditional processing technology of "One Prescription and Personalized Drug for One Person" to make Chinese herbal medicine into thick paste, so ad to achieve the purpose of nourishing the body and regulating the disease. The ointment prescription is suitable for following people: patients with chronic diseases, sub-healthy people, people who need treatment based on TCM physical examination, and menopausal women and sickly children who are recovering from major illness, surgery or trauma, etc. During the period of taking ointment prescription, in case of cold, dyspepsia by overeating, diarrhea and other conditions, the ointment should be suspended temporarily, and then continue to take after the acute disease is cured.
