The 10th International Conference on Gastroenterology was Held Successfully

In order to strengthen the academic exchange of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing and treating digestive diseases of the world, enhance the understanding and cooperation among relevant groups, and promote the healthy development of digestive sciences in the world, from May 16 to 18, 2019,the 10th International Conference on Gastroenterology sponsored by Digestive Diseases Professional Committee of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and co-organized by Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hainan Province, Hainan Provincial Association of Chinese Medicine and Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University was successfully held in Haikou City.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Zhang Shengsheng, the Chairman of Digestive Diseases Professional Committee of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, and the Chief Expert and Director of Digestion Center of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University. Mr. Sang Binsheng, the Vice President and Secretary General of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and Former Director of the Policy, Regulation and Supervision Department of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Yang Chunbo, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, He Xiaolu, the Director of the Science and Technology Department of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhou Guoming, the Deputy Director of Hainan Provincial Health Committee, Xu Qingning, the Director of Hainan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Cai Min, the Director of Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hainan Province, and Professor Tang Xudong, the Vice President of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, attended the opening ceremony and seated on the platform. More than 60 famous digestive experts in Chinese and Western medicine, including Professor Yang Chunbo, the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Great Master, Professor Chen Shengliang from Renji Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Professor Sheng Jianqiu from the Seventh Medical Center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and Professor Zhang Shengsheng and others made keynote speeches on "Document Retrieval of Traditional Chinese Medicine Names of Digestive Diseases", "Clinical Medication Corresponding to Gastrointestinal Mucosal Inflammation and Neuroregulation", "Essentials of Screening and Endoscopic Treatment of Colorectal Cancer" and "Treatment Difficulties of Ulcerative Colitis and Intervention of Traditional Chinese Medicine". 7 units including Report on Special Invitation, Special Report, Treatment of Spleen and Stomach Diseases with Classical Prescription, Clinical Experience Forum of Various Schools of Thought, Discussion of Difficult Cases, Research Progress Forum and Youth Forum were set up respectively. The Keynote Speeches discussed the academic frontiers at home and abroad, and the latest research results and hot issues in this field, the Research Progress Forum focused on the latest research developments and ideas in science and technology at the national level, the Classical Prescription Forum focused on the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of spleen and stomach diseases, Clinical Experience Forum of Various Schools of Thought summarized the academic thoughts of famous scholars of Spleen and Stomach Diseases from Yanjing School, Lingnan School of Medicine, Shanghai School, Menghe School of Medicine and Wu School of Medicine, and Youth Forum showed the elegant demeanour of young Chinese medicine scholars. More than 500 experts and scholars from all over the world attended the conference. The meeting focused on practicality, making sure that every participant is rewarded. The atmosphere was very lively, and the lecture hall was full and lively, reflecting the rare rich academic atmosphere and warm discussion scenes in recent years. While closely following the development of modern medicine, the lecture hall fully returned to the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, and after the lunchtime and evening lectures, people were reluctant to leave the venue for a long time and were still immersed in the atmosphere of academic discussion and exchange.

This conference aims to build a high-level academic exchange platform for digestive diseases research between traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, to build a bridge between clinical and basic, prevention and treatment, and other multi-disciplinary exchanges, and to promote the common development of the level of prevention and treatment of digestive diseases in Chinese medicine at home and abroad.
