Department of Gynecology of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Capital Medical University was founded in 1956. Now it is the key specialist department of the 12th Five-Year Plan under National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing TCM Gynecology Diagnosis and Treatment Center under Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, standardized training base for resident doctors in Beijing, testing base of clinical drugs, and unit entitled to grant master's degrees of TCM Gynecology of Capital Medical University and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Headed by Chai Songyan, a master of Chinese medicine, the Department has formed a mature, stable and well-structured gynecological medical team. At present, it has 37 medical staff, 32% of them hold deputy senior professional titles or above and 68% have master degree or above; It has 28 beds in the ward. By inheriting the academic thoughts and clinical experiences of TCM Gynecology of Chai Songyan and other famous doctors, the Department can prevent and treat diseases related to menopathy, leucorrhea, pregnancy and produce with Chinese medicine, undertake the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of complicated gynecological diseases, and carry out the emergency rescue and surgery of acute and severe cases, enjoying a good reputation in Beijing, North China and the whole country, as well receiving praise on service capacity and diagnosis and treatment levels.
The Department has built a "TCM Infertility Diagnosis and Treatment Center", which is based on the superior resources of veteran doctors of TCM of our hospital in treating infertility, integrates gynecological and andrology doctor resources, and develops relying on interdisciplinary and interhospital the advantages, aiming at treating male and female infertility with TCM syndrome differentiation and with equal Emphasis on Chinese and Western Medicine.
It is equipped with advanced medical equipment for treatment of gynecological diseases, such as laparoscope, hysteroscope and colposcopy, can carry out modern medicine clinical surgery and the emergency treatment. In recent years, the medical service capacity of the Department has been steadily improved, with annual outpatient visits ≥ 100,000 person-times; annual discharge patients≥ 1,000 person-times; annual surgical operations ≥ 500 cases; average hospitalization days ≤ 8.65 days; bed occupancy rate 95%-100%; the proportion of prescriptions for electuaries and pills issued by the outpatient Department ≥ 70%.
