Liu Fengwu (1912 - 1977), was fond of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) since he was a child. At the age of 17, he studied with Wei Shouqing, a famous doctor, for four years. In 1932, he obtained a license to practice medicine. Since 1935, he has been practicing medicine on his own in Xidan, Beijing. He is famous for his good treatment of gynecological difficult and miscellaneous diseases.

After the liberation of China, Mr. Liu actively participated in the revitalization of TCM. In 1954, he joined the First Outpatient Department of TCM in Beijing. In 1956, he was transferred to Beijing Hospital of TCM. In 1957, he became the first Director of Department of Gynecology of Beijing Hospital of TCM and a gynecological teacher of the School of TCM.

Mr. Liu has been practicing gynecology for decades, accumulated rich experiences in clinical treatment of gynecology, being praised by the majority of patients. He paid attention to the training of successors, made a relatively outstanding contribution to the teaching of gynecology of TCM, he summarized decades of experiences to write and publish The Collection of Gynecology Experience of Liu Fengwu, leaving a precious wealth for posterity.
