Wei Zhengming

Wei Zhengming (1912 - 1982), male, was born in Taizhong County, Taiwan Province. He graduated from the School of Medicine of Kyushu University in Japan in 1941 and worked as a Medical Researcher in Japan. After the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan in 1945, he returned to China and set up "Zhengming Hospital" in Dongcheng, Beijing. After the liberation of China, he served as Vice President of Beijing Fifth Hospital and Acting Director of Beijing Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1959, with the title of Researcher.

He loved the cause of TCM and devoted himself to the work of integrating TCM with modern medicine for decades. He made a certain contribution to the establishment and development of Beijing Institute of TCM. His treatment method had a good effect on the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases by integrating TCM with modern medicine. He has visited Japan for many times to give lectures and has done a lot of works for the medical exchanges between China and Japan.

He was elected to the deputy of the Seventh National People's Congress of Beijing, and the Director of the Headquarters of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League; Vice Director of Beijing Branch Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, Member of the Central Liaison Committee of China Democratic League, Vice Director of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission of the China Democratic League and Vice Director of the Committee of the All-China Federation of Overseas Chinese.
