Tian Renmin, male, was born in 1914 in Sanhe County, Hebei Province. Born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Mr. Tian was influenced by his family and loved medicine since he was a child. In 1933, he went to Beijing to study the theory ofTCM with the famous Chinese medicine physician Xu Foheng, and he often consulted with Chen Shenwu and Yu Xinfu. In 1947, he passed the examination and was licensed to practice medicine.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he studied modern medical knowledge at Beijing Advanced School of TCM in 1952, worked at the Outpatient Department of Chinese Medical Association in 1956, was transferred to Beijing Hospital of TCM in 1958, serving as Physician and Chief Physician, held the post of a Member of Committee of Dongcheng Medical and Health Association, and was identified as priority academic experiences inheritance object among the famous old doctors of TCM in Beijing in 1981.

Mr. Tian has rich clinical experiences, especially in acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of poliomyelitis. In the 1960s, he was the leader of the treatment group for poliomyelitis, accumulated rich practical experiences and achieved remarkable clinical effects. He has written many papers on the treatment of poliomyelitis, which have been praised by patients and colleagues. He has been engaged in acupuncture teaching for many years, and has participated in the preparation of such medical works as Explanations of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Prescriptions, Selected Papers on Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Selected Clinical Cases of TCM, Selected Experiences of Physicians in TCM in Beijing, and so on.
