Du Jiamo (1921 - 1993), male, was born in Jinghai County, Hebei Province. Mr. Du was the third generation of Du's family, a famous doctor of hemorrhoids and fistula in Beijing and Tianjin. He studied medicine with his father from an early age. He was admitted to Peking Medical College in 1938 and licensed to practice Chinese medicine in Beijing in 1941. He was famous for surgical treatment and hemorrhoids and fistula, and received an endless stream of consultations every day.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he studied modern medicine systematically at Beijing Advanced School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1951, worked at Beijing Xihuang Village United Clinic in 1953, transferred to Second Outpatient Department of Beijing in 1956, and transferred to Beijing Hospital of TCM in 1962. He served as a Physician to Chief Physician, and was once a Director of Anal and Bowel Association of All-China Association of TCM. In 1981, he was identified as the priority academic experiences inheritance object among the famous old doctors of TCM in Beijing.

Mr. Du inherited the family learning and was good at accepting new knowledge. He has accumulated clinical experiences for decades to cure tens of thousands of patients. He used Chinese medicine surgery to relieve the pain of many patients and conducted follow-up visits for up to 20 years, confirming the remarkable short-term and long-term effect of Chinese medicine ligation. The effective methods of prevention and treatment of difficult and serious disease and complications in Department of Proctology were put forward by him, and he applied acupuncture anesthesia to anorectal surgery for the first time, and he also successfully developed a long-acting postoperative analgesic for anorectal surgery, which made outstanding contribution to the development of anorectal medicine in TCM. He had trained dozens of specialists for the country, guided and assisted many hospitals in establishing the department of hemorrhoids and fistula, and had written many papers such as Patrimonial Ligating and Tightening Thread Methods for Hemorrhoids and Fistula, Clinical Observation on the Application of Long-acting Analgesics in Hemorrhoids and Fistula Surgery, and participated in the writing of the Handbook of Clinical Surgery Combined Chinese and Western Medicine, and Routine of Diagnosis and Treatment, and etc.
