He made great efforts to improve his medical skills by diligent study and strenuous training, attached great importance to the combination of theory and practice, accumulated rich clinical experiences and improved it greatly on the basis of inheritance. He used Six Cun Gold needles to treat scrofula (lymph node nucleus). By inheriting the experiences of the ancients in selecting acupoints, he created the technique of penetrating three acupoints with one needle, thus relieving the pain of single needling of three acupoints, dredging meridians and vital energy and blood, obtaining unique clinical effect, and curing many patients. Hence the laudatory name of "Gold Needle Wang Leting" was gained by him.

In 1956, he was hired by Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as the first Director of the Department of Acupuncture. Three years later, he was confirmed as one of the first batch of Beijing's key successors of TCM. He was successively appointed as professor of Beijing Second Medical College (now Capital Medical University), Director of Beijing Association of TCM, Director of Beijing Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and editor of the Journal of TCM.

Adhering to the principles of "Treating Paralysis by First Dredging the Governor Meridian", "Treating Stroke by Treating Qi First, as Qi Flows Smoothly the Stroke will Disappear" and so on, Mr. Wang has his unique point of view on Wushu acupoint, Beishu acupoint and Jiaji acupoint. He has created a total of 210 needling methods, including the "Twelve-needle Methods for Hands and Feet", "Wushu Acupoint of the Five Internal Organs Used in Combination with Geshu", "Wang's Jiaji Needling Method" and "Old Ten-needle Methods", which were elaborated in the book Collection of Needling Methods.
